Philipp Sandermann is a professor of social pedagogy at Leuphana University Lüneburg. His fields of interest include:
- (comparative) welfare systems research,
- theories of social pedagogy and social work,
- child and youth welfare research (with a special interest in ombuds offices and complaint services and social space approaches),
- refugee family studies,
- trust research.
