Ste­fa­nie is a Junior Professor of Digital Transformation at the Institute of Management and Organization. She stu­di­ed busi­ness ad­mi­nis­tra­ti­on at the Uni­ver­si­ty of Co­lo­gne and the Uni­ver­si­ty of Syd­ney and received her doctoral degree from the Leuphana University Lüneburg. She received the Leuphana dissertation award in 2021.

Stefanie’s research is located at the intersection of digital- sustainable transformation, technology and entrepreneurship. In her research, she focuses on large and mature organizations but also on medium-scale entrepreneurs. She draws on qualitative research methods such as case study research and ethnography. In addition, Stefanie has worked on qualitative meta-studies, i.e., qualitative meta-analysis and meta-ethnography, as novel methodological approaches in management and organization studies. Her work has been recognized with the Academy of Management Best Student Paper Award 2018 (Research Methods Division), ABCD Reviewing Award (AOM), and was shortlisted for the EGOS Best Student Paper Award 2019, the Arnon Reichers Best Student Paper Award at AOM 2022, and the SMS Ph.D. Paper Prize in 2020. Her work has been published in the Journal of Management Studies, Organizational Research Methods and Academy of Management Best Paper Proceedings. Since 2022, Stefanie is a fellow of the Joachim Herz Stiftung.

Furthermore, Stefanie is a founding member of OS4Future, a social movement of organization and management scientists who wish to inspire fellow academics to take action on climate change. She also serves as "Data & Analytics Officer" for the SAP Interest Group at the Academy of Management Annual Meeting.

Stefanie was also a teaching assistant at the University of St. Gallen.
